Global Peacemakers Peace Forum

On Saturday, February 9 from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm a collaboration between the University of San Diego Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, the University of San Diego Institute of College Initiatives and Rotary District 5340 Pathways to Peace will host the 1st Annual Global Peacemakers Peace Forum in the Theatre at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice on the campus of the University of San Diego.

A distinguished panel moderated by San Diego Rotary Club 33 Peace Committee Chair Jenni Prisk will address this topic from a global to a local perspective.

I've been invited to speak about peace in San Diego.

There are so many thoughts swirling through my mind that could never be detailed in the fifteen minutes allotted on Saturday. "Let there be peace on earth," is playing in the background with the wish that a day might come when forums like these would never be needed in a civil society.

Until that day comes, I thank God for those leaders that are working tirelessly to increase peace throughout San Diego County. My comments will focus on a few of the great things that are being done and those that believe failure is not an option.

During the final hour of the Peace Forum the audience will be invited to dialogue with the panelists and each other.

I will miss you if you can't attend!

Peace was given to us from God, we must remember our humble beginnings, the violence was always here and will continue to be, we can minimize the negative effect it has in our community when we continue to promote HOPE!”
